Pleasant Island, is a wonderful place with a very colorful history. It was first used in the early 1900’s as a “resort” that offered such amenities as gambling and alcoholic beverages during the time of prohibition. It maintained this status until abandoned sometime in the 1950’s. Some twenty years later the Island was purchased by Mount Pleasant Baptist Church to be used as a church camp.
Since that time Pleasant Island has been used in service for the Lord. Over the years the ministry of Pleasant Island has grown into Pleasant Island Youth Camp and Judgement House. It also serves as the Elk Valley Christian School athletic field.
Pleasant Island is home to our camp and there have been many great summers spent there. Countless numbers of people have accepted Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior as result of the ministries there and we look forward to God continuing His work at Pleasant Island.
